Giancarlo Pirrone is an experienced architect, property developer and designer in the areas of residential and commercial real estate. He is an investor and business owner and operator.
Born in Palermo, Italy, son of the eminent Italian historian and Dean of Architecture, Gianni Pirrone, Giancarlo holds a Degree in Architecture and Planning (UNIPA), followed by extensive post-graduate research at Harvard GSD, Columbia University GSAPP and Georgia Institute of Technology. He has been a U.S. resident for 42 years and attained his US citizenship in 2019.
Former professor of architecture studio at Georgia Tech, and current Adjunct Professor of Architecture at Kennesaw Staten University, he was a research fellow at Columbia University and lecturer at Harvard University Summer Program in Italy. Mr. Pirrone is currently a mentor for numerous academic institutions in the U.S. (Harvard GSD, Emory University Goizueta School of Business, Georgia State University and the prestigious Bocconi University in Italy.
Founder and president of Ansley Partners & Investors, LLC, a real estate investment group, and owner of AGP Properties, LLC, a real-estate holding company, he founded and designed in 2013 Varuni-Napoli, an award-winning restaurant venue in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Pirrone holds partnerships in various real estate investment groups in Atlanta. With an extensive research curriculum and doctoral studies in Architectural History and Criticism, and over 45 years of design and construction experience, Pirrone has supervised over one hundred projects, as well as countless renovations and additions, from Neo-Palladian to Craftsman and Modern. As President of the Italian Cultural Club, Ciancia, a hub with 1700 subscribers, Mr. Pirrone’s has supported the Italian community in Atlanta as a cultural operator for over 20 years, fostering and promoting the use of the Italian language. He is the primary sponsor of the Atlanta Italian Movie Festival, this year at its XIV edition. Mr. Pirrone has received numerous awards for his cultural activity, among which the prestigious 2003 CSNA Award, for promotional and professional merits.
